Prepare product data, images, stock rules, payment and delivery decisions before your online store project begins.
An online store's schedule often depends on information prepared before design. Undefined products and unclear delivery rules can prevent sales even after technical setup. Build your starting pack around operations.
Create the product table
Prepare a unique code, name, category, price and stock level for each product. Define colour or size variants separately. Duplicate rows under different names can cause import confusion, so agree on a coding system early.
Match images to products
File names should make ownership clear. Separate main, detail and usage images, and verify your rights to use them. Missing photography is not a minor task to leave until launch day.
Plan what follows a sale
Who prepares the order, when is stock reduced and how is shipping information entered? Include cancellations and failed payments. Delivery and return information should reflect your actual operation rather than copied store text.
Rehearse with sample products
Before importing everything, test a simple product, a variant product and an unavailable item. A small representative set reveals problems while corrections remain manageable. Use this preparation list to clarify the implementation scope.
